Intercultural Competence
“Culture hides more than it reveals, and strangely enough what it hides, it hides most effectively from its own participants. Years of study have convinced me that the real job is not to understand foreign culture but to understand our own.” Edward, T. Hall (1959)
In a globalised world that gets more and more connected - transcending national borders - “intercultural competence” is becoming a key competence in a variety of different contexts.
“Intercultural competence“ encompasses different traits such as: reflection, empathy, the willingness to change one’s perspective, openness and the ability to tolerate differences.
We offer intercultural workshops that can be tailor made for specific groups in terms of topics and the times allotted for a workshop.
Our workshops aim:
• awareness of intercultural situations
• recognition and reflection of values and norms
• reflection of different perspectives and communication
Target groups: students, employees and trainees studying or working in higher education
We currently do not offer entire workshops in English. However, talks or introductionary sessions are part of our services.
Contact us. We will gladly talk about possible options.
