Child Care Facilities
Together with our co-operating partner companies we offer priority places for children of students in the following facilities. The “Kinderkrippe” (day care for infants and toddlers) is suitable for children under the age of three and “Kindergarten” for 3-6 year olds.
ASB-Kinderkrippe "Krippenhaus"
This facility offers flexible hours of operation and is open throughout the entire holiday time.
Opening hours of the child care center: Mon – Fri 07.00 - 17.00 hrs.
Six groups, each for ten children between ages 1-3 years.
Location: Right next to the “LAB” student housing complex, Berliner Allee 6, close to h_da and central train station.

ASB-Krippenhaus "Karlshof": Day care for infants and toddlers + family housing
This newly built housing complex offers day care for infants and toddlers as well as family apartments. Student parents receive preferential treatment.
Opening hours of the child care center: Mon - Fri 07.00 - 17.00 hrs
Three groups, each for ten children from 1-3 years of age.
Location: Alfred-Messel-Weg 4a, 64287 Darmstadt (next to the residential complex Karlshof)

There are four infant/toddler groups for 1-3 year olds for which children of students and university staff are given priority. They are located
- at Lichtwiese, El-Lissitzky-Str. 5: Two groups, each for ten children Mon - Fri 08.00 - 16.00 hrs
- in the city center, Hügelstr. 43: One group for 10 children, Mon - Fri 08.00 - 15.45 hrs
- at Martinsviertel, Robert-Schneider-Str. 49: One group for 10 children, Mon - Fri 07.30 - 16.00 hrs
At Lichtwiese, there are also two “Waldkindergarten”-groups (focus on outdoor activities) for children between ages 3-6 years.
- at Lichtwiese, El-Lissitzky-Str. 5: 20 children per group, Mon - Fri 08.00 - 16.00 hrs (the "Waldhörnchen"-building is located inside the student housing complex Studentendorf Lichtwiesenweg).
Application: Per online application form. Darmstadt has to be primary place of residence of the child.
Please note: The facilities are operated by a registered society that requires parents to collaborate and participate in both the organization of the day care's daily routines as well as the parent committee.
TU Kinderhäuser (TU Children's Houses)
there, the children of students (and staff) of the TU Darmstadt are given preferential consideration in the allocation of places. Both children's houses are run by "Educcare" with a bilingual concept.

two kindergarden groups (3-6 years) 40 places.
