Cashless payment with the chip cards
Only cashless payment with a payment card is possible in all university catering establishments.

The following chip cards are accepted in the catering facilities of the Studierendenwerk Darmstadt:
- Athena card of the TU
- ULB
- h_da Media Campus Dieburg
- Darmstadt Student Union
- h_da CampusCard
Data protection: When using all of the above chip cards as an “electronic wallet”, no personal data is processed or stored by the Studierendenwerk; payment transactions are recorded anonymously under the card number.
Athena card of the TU
The exact steps and procedures for applying for the Athena Card are explained on the HRZ pages. The completed card can be picked up at the ULB circulation desk.
Application: Electronic purse (payment in Studierendenwerk catering facilities, use of washing machines in Studierendenwerk halls of residence, various photocopiers and printers), library card (incl. use of lockers in ULB)
Loss: For all chip cards listed, the card cannot be blocked or the amount of money charged to the chip card replaced if the card is lost.
Lost/found chip cards will be forwarded to the HRZ (Service Office Stadtmitte) by the Studierendenwerk.
Defect: Information on the payment of defective chip cards
ULB
The ULB library card is issued by the ULB for students and employees of other universities (not TU) and for ULB users from the region; for students and employees of the TU, this card function is included in the Athene Card. The steps and issuing points required to obtain the card can be found on the ULB website.
Application: Electronic wallet (payment in student union catering facilities, use of washing machines in student union halls of residence, various photocopiers and printers), library card (incl. use of lockers in ULB)
Loss: For all chip cards listed, if the card is lost, it cannot be blocked and the amount of money charged to the chip card cannot be replaced.
Lost or found chip cards will be forwarded to the ULB (lending service) by the Studierendenwerk. A new card will be issued and the old card will be cancelled at the ULB circulation desk.

h_da Media Campus Dieburg
The CampusCard of the Department of Media is issued on site in Dieburg, the necessary steps are explained on the Internet pages of the Media Campus of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
Application and collection at the CampusCard office.
Application: The CampusCard combines the RMV semester ticket, library card and payment card. The CampusCard enables payment, by topping up the card, in the catering facilities of the Studierendenwerk, use of washing machines in halls of residence of the Studierendenwerk, various photocopiers and printers.
Loss: For all chip cards listed, if the card is lost, it cannot be blocked and the amount of money charged to the chip card cannot be replaced. Lost/found chip cards will be forwarded to the CampusCard office by the Studierendenwerk. Report the loss of the card immediately at campuscard@h-da.de. A new card can be obtained from the CampusCard office.

Student guest cards
Student guest cards are available - against a €5 deposit - from our electronic guest card dispensers in the foyers of the Mensa Lichtwiese, Stadtmitte and in the h_da student house on the Schöfferstraße campus, as well as at the bistro cash desks.
First-semester students can order their Athene card online, but often only do so at the beginning of the orientation week - until they receive their Athene card, they can pay with the Studierendenwerk guest card.
Users: Students with a guest card pay a higher price in the canteens than students with an Athene card.
Studierendenkarte
Visiting students (from other Hessian universities) at the TU who do not receive an Athene card due to their length of stay at the TU can make a personal appointment by emailing ml@stwda.de and receive a student card for the desired period on presentation of their student ID and completion of a form.

Loss: For all chip cards listed, if the card is lost, it cannot be blocked and the amount of money on the chip card cannot be replaced.
h_da Campuscard
The CampusCard is your student ID for the entire duration of your studies at h_da and is issued once free of charge. The CampusCard does not replace a photo ID. The CampusCard is always valid for the current semester in which you are re-registered. After you have successfully re-registered for a new semester by transferring the semester fee on time, you must have the card reprinted at one of the revalidation machines distributed throughout the university in order to extend its validity into the following semester.

Loss: For all chip cards listed, if the card is lost, it cannot be blocked and the amount of money charged to the chip card cannot be replaced.
Lost/found chip cards will be forwarded to the Student Service Centre of h_da by the Studierendenwerk. If you lose your card, please contact the Help Desk on the ground floor of the h_da tower block. There is a charge for issuing a new card.
