Action against gambling addiction
Sports betting can be fun and provide the occasional thrill or two. Major sporting events are heavily advertised and online betting is easy and available at any time. Many people follow the lure and promise of quick, easy money. The believe that with a lillte knowledge they could place their bets smartly and increase their stakes! Betting fever grips many people, regardless of age.
But watch out! There ist a very dark side.
Sport betting belongs to gambling. Here too, the outcome is largely dependent on chance.
The risk of being drawn into the world of gambling and sports betting without being aware of the potential consequences is therefore increased.
A negative spiral threatens: many quickly lose control of their gambling behavior, become addicted and often get into financial problems. Players lose more than they originally bet.
The pressure to win money can lead to anxiety or depression.
The constant struggle between winning and losing can be emotionally stressful.
This puts a lot of stress on the lives of those affected, as well as their relatives. In most cases, it also has negative effects on their studies and working life. The addiction can lead to dropping out of studies and job losses.
It every bet problematic?
How do I know that my partner/boyfriend/girlfriend/roommate is at risk?
